Proper storage protects your investment.
Carded vs loose
Mint On Card (MOC) is the highest grade. Original sealed card increases resale 2-5x for rare castings. If you plan to display loose, decide upfront.
Protector cases for carded
Standard cards fit 8.5x4.5 inch acrylic clamshells. Premium needs taller. Available on Amazon India for ₹40-₹80 each.
Loose display
Acrylic display cubes or wall-mount shelves with glass front. Avoid direct sunlight — UV fades Spectraflame paint.
Climate for India
High humidity can rust metal chassis. Use silica gel packets. Keep collection away from monsoon-exposed walls.
Insurance for valuable collections
Once your collection passes ₹50,000, photograph each car, note SKU and condition. For rare STH or RLC, store in a fireproof safe. See RLC value guide.
Display walls and shelving
Most Indian collectors mount IKEA Tjusig hooks or wooden ledges. 4-foot ledge holds ~24 carded cars. LED strips, avoid heat bulbs.
